For travellers seeking a spiritual holiday with an international setting, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is offering a six-day Sri Lanka Ramayana Yathra covering several sites connected with the Ramayana tradition.
The 5-night/6-day tour combines pilgrimage with sightseeing across destinations including Dambulla, Trincomalee, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Colombo. The package includes flights between Bengaluru and Colombo, accommodation, meals, transfers and sightseeing.
The journey is scheduled to begin from Bengaluru on December 10, 2026, with the return flight reaching Bengaluru on December 16.
Sri Lanka Ramayana Yathra: Flight Details
The outbound journey will be operated by SriLankan Airlines. Flight UL-1174 is scheduled to leave Bengaluru at 9:55 am on December 10 and arrive in Colombo at 11:25 am.
For the return journey, flight UL-173 will depart Colombo at 1:05 am, reaching Bengaluru at 2:30 am on December 16.
How Much Does the IRCTC Sri Lanka Tour Cost?
The tour price depends on the selected accommodation and occupancy. The reported rates are:
- Single occupancy: ₹86,200 per person
- Double occupancy: ₹65,700 per person
- Triple occupancy: ₹65,250 per person
- Child with bed (5–11 years): ₹51,500
- Child without bed (2–11 years): ₹47,500
What Does the Package Include?
The IRCTC package covers economy-class air travel between Bengaluru and Colombo, along with five nights of hotel accommodation.
Travellers will receive breakfast, lunch and dinner during the tour, while transfers and sightseeing will be arranged in air-conditioned vehicles on a seat-in-coach basis.
The package also includes entry tickets to the listed sightseeing attractions, an English-speaking tour guide in Sri Lanka and overseas travel insurance for tourists between six months and 79 years of age.
Travellers should, however, review the package conditions before booking. Items such as airfare increases, airport taxes, fuel surcharges, onboard meals, personal expenses and additional sightseeing are not included.

Sri Lanka Ramayana Yathra: Day-Wise Itinerary
Day 1: Bengaluru to Colombo and Dambulla
The journey starts with the morning flight from Bengaluru to Colombo. Following arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, the group will meet its local guide before travelling for lunch.
The day’s pilgrimage programme includes Manavari Temple and Muneeshwaram Temple, followed by the journey to Dambulla for the overnight stay.
Day 2: Dambulla, Sigiriya and Trincomalee
After breakfast, travellers will visit Dambulla Cave Temple before continuing towards Trincomalee.
The itinerary includes Thiru Koneshwaram Temple and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple, after which the group returns to Dambulla for the night.
Day 3: Dambulla to Kandy
The third day takes travellers to Kandy after breakfast and hotel check-out.
The programme includes visits to a gem factory and batik factory, followed by the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. An evening cultural programme is also planned before the overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 4: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
