Indian travellers looking for a less-explored European destination may soon have an easier option. Belarus has added India to the list of countries eligible for its e-visa facility, simplifying the process of applying for entry into the country.
The decision was approved by Belarus’ Council of Ministers on September 14 following an initiative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The move is aimed at making travel between India and Belarus more convenient while strengthening bilateral ties.
Adding to the development, Belarus is also planning direct air links between Minsk and Mumbai, as well as Minsk and Goa, which could further improve accessibility for Indian travellers.
Belarus Makes E-Visas Available to Indians
Indian citizens can now apply for a Belarus e-visa, allowing much of the visa process to be handled online.
According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the digital process is intended to reduce administrative requirements and make travel arrangements easier. The updated rules also introduce changes to visa forms, supporting documents and related terminology.
The e-visa initiative is not limited to leisure travel. Belarus also hopes the simplified process will encourage business visits and wider exchanges between India and Belarus.
Direct Flights Could Further Boost Connectivity
Belarus is also looking at improving air connectivity with India through proposed direct flights.
The planned routes would connect Minsk with Mumbai and Goa, potentially giving Indian travellers more convenient access to Belarus without relying on the usual European travel hubs.
For tourists, the combination of easier visa procedures and improved connectivity could make Belarus a more accessible option for a European holiday.
