In a move aimed at accommodating growing tourist interest, the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department has extended the eco-tourism season at Amangarh Tiger Reserve until June 30. The decision allows visitors an additional two weeks to experience jungle safaris and explore one of the state’s emerging wildlife destinations.

Earlier, the eco-tourism season was scheduled to conclude on June 15. However, considering favorable weather conditions and continued demand from nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers, authorities decided to prolong safari operations. The extension is expected to provide more opportunities for tourists to witness the reserve’s rich biodiversity and natural landscapes.

Located in Bijnor district and serving as an important buffer to the renowned Jim Corbett National Park, Amangarh Tiger Reserve has steadily gained popularity among wildlife lovers. The reserve is known for its tiger population, elephant sightings, diverse birdlife, and dense forest ecosystems, making it a preferred destination for eco-tourism in northern India.

Forest officials stated that safari timings have been adjusted in line with seasonal conditions to ensure visitor safety and wildlife conservation. The extended season is also expected to support local tourism-related businesses, including guides, transport operators, hospitality establishments, and community-based tourism initiatives.

Over the past few years, Amangarh has emerged as a significant wildlife tourism destination in Uttar Pradesh, attracting visitors seeking experiences similar to those offered by larger tiger reserves while benefiting from a relatively less crowded environment. The reserve’s growing popularity reflects increasing interest in sustainable tourism and nature-based travel experiences.

Officials have encouraged tourists planning a visit during the extended period to make reservations in advance and follow all eco-tourism guidelines designed to protect wildlife habitats and ensure responsible tourism practices. Visitors can continue to enjoy guided jungle safaris, birdwatching opportunities, and the reserve’s scenic forest landscapes through the end of June.

The extension is expected to further strengthen Amangarh’s position as one of Uttar Pradesh’s key eco-tourism attractions while providing a boost to regional tourism activity during the summer travel season.
