The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has appointed Cho Yoonmi as the new Director of its New Delhi Office, effective June 30, 2026. With more than 25 years of experience within KTO, she brings extensive expertise in tourism promotion and destination marketing to one of Korea’s fastest-growing outbound markets.

In her new role, Cho will oversee KTO’s initiatives in India, focusing on strengthening partnerships with the travel trade, expanding destination awareness, and driving visitor growth from the Indian market. She will also lead campaigns designed to promote South Korea’s diverse tourism experiences to Indian travellers.

Commenting on her appointment, Cho said that India has emerged as one of the most significant growth markets for Korean tourism. She noted that the relationship between the two countries has continued to strengthen over the years and expressed her commitment to working closely with industry partners to further position South Korea as a preferred destination for Indian travellers.

Under her leadership, KTO India plans to expand its engagement across major Indian cities while introducing initiatives that go beyond traditional destination marketing. The organization intends to focus on immersive travel experiences and strengthen collaborations with tour operators, airlines, and tourism stakeholders to encourage greater outbound travel to South Korea.

The appointment comes as South Korea continues to witness steady growth in Indian visitor arrivals. Earlier this year, KTO reported that nearly 200,000 Indian travellers visited the country in 2025, representing a 13% increase over the previous year. Building on this momentum, the organization is targeting approximately 270,000 Indian visitors in 2026 through enhanced trade engagement, marketing campaigns, and incentive programmes.
